Description: Almost all of us have heard the adage “If you make a 100 percent alpaca sweater, before long you’ll have a 100 percent alpaca dress!” But what does that really mean? We know that alpaca, by itself, does not have very good memory. Is there anything we can do to improve its memory? Does it make a difference if the yarn is spun worsted or woolen? Or if the fabric is knitted, crocheted, or woven? This article experiments with different blends and spinning methods and creates swatches for each sample to compare the growth.
