Brighton top fiber give-a-way!

Man alive, did you just love Anne Podlesak’s new design in the Twist issue of PLY?  I adore it.  I also adore the woman that modeled it for us.  So wonderful.  We were just out shooting and out runs this woman with my book in hand asking me to sign it, saying she’d just taken a class with Lexi Boeger (Pluckyfluff), and that she absolutely loved spinning!  Of course we asked her to model and of course she was stunning.

Anne Podlesak used energized singles to create a ziggity-zag edge and very cool slanting stripes and now you can use the same exact fiber and create your own — merino/bamboo blend (60/40) in cool blues from Wooly Wonka Fibers!

If you want to win this fiber (enough to do the exact sweater Marilou is wearing, here’s what you have to do — leave a short (or long) (or really long) review of the issue here  for the twist issue of PLY.  Just click on the review tab under the add to cart button.  Be honest, the winner will be chosen at random, not for the content of the review (though if your content contains links to diet sites, fake fancy handbags, or sites with more than one naked person, chances are  you won’t win).  Sound good?  If you’ve already reviewed it, you’re entered!

I’ll pick and announce the winner on Monday, the 11th (one solid week).

ps.  it’s okay if you put your review here too, but make sure you put it here!

Loved the twist issue! I’m not a “technical” spinner and the topic of calculating twist/grist stresses me out. I picked up a few pointers and the articles by Lexi and Sarah helped me to see it’s okay to spin by intuition 🙂

I just started subscribing so I haven’t seen a single issue yet. However, I am really excited about this magazine and have high expectations!

I love PLY!! As a new spinner with no other spinner friends when I started out I devoured each one that came. I love each and every issue and look forward to the next. Ply started out a little within a couple months of me spinning and I signed up for the first issue. Now almost a year later with one Matchless and several Turkish Spindles and one drop I am happily spinning!

What an excellent addition to my library this issue of Ply is! I have long anguished over the question of twist, especially when using my drop spindle. This issue answers my questions! Thanks so much for this excellent magazine.

I love the variety of articles everything from history, art, projects and seat of your pants techniques. I have already referred back to previous issues for techniques and stretches.

I love ply! Each issue has little nuggets of wisdom, to help this spinner become that much better. Twist is such a huge topic and this issue really addresses several parts, that a new and seasoned spinner will gain tons from it. Thanks for making a great magazine for us all to enjoy!

Most knitting and spinning magazines I flip through, making a note of a pattern or technique or something. But with Ply I read it cover to cover and usually cover to cover again!

I have the current issue of PLY on twist. Because I’ve just begun spinning on a wheel (as opposed to spinning 5 years+ on spindles), the articles on twist have increased my focus. So much to learn and I’ll be referring back to this twist issue for quite a while.

I am really happy with the new PLY magazine. I really like how you decided to focus each issue on a certian subject or technique. I think it’s a wonderful learning tool…even for the more experienced spinners/fiber artists. It’s a great way to expose fiber arts to the community & I think you guys have done a wonderful job. I look forward to all the issues to come.

Being a new spinner learning about the how and whys of twist made everything more clear. The measuring will take me some time to learn, but the information to why it is to tight, to lose, to big was a great learning tool for me. Thank you for the step by step how to.

Absolutely wonderful tool, chuck full of information, for both the newbie and the veteran handspinner!

PLY Magazine – the best thing that could have happened to the Fiberworld!!
